2代延續1代的劇情，搭上直昇機後機上爆發疫情導致直昇機墜毀，主角於是沿途打殭屍並尋找武器物資及生還者協助戰鬥。每過一小關後會進入地圖搜尋模式，可尋找武器和生還者，等到累積足夠物資即可進入大地圖，最後到達Union City結束。
